If you’ve been dreaming of moving to Valencia with Spain’s Golden Visa, there’s an important update: Spain is phasing out the Golden Visa for real estate investors. This visa has been a popular option for non-EU citizens, allowing residency through a €500,000 property investment.

What’s Changing?

• The new law officially took effect on January 3, 2025, but will be fully enforced on April 3, 2025.

• Keep in mind that when buying a property, registration in the Land Registry takes about a month from the date of purchase, and gathering all the required documents, such as your criminal records, can take up to six weeks.

• This means you can still apply until April 2, 2025, under the existing rules!

• If you already have a Golden Visa, you can renew it under the original conditions.
