UK - Spain travel restrictions lifted as of May 24th

As of midnight on May 24th, citizens from the UK, and other countries outside of the EU including Japan can freely enter Spain. The new rules mean:

  • Non-essential travel to Spain is permitted

  • A negative PCR test is no longer required

  • No quarantine is required

  • A health control form will be required

Travelers can now visit Spain for non-essential purposes, such as tourism and remain without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days within 6 months.

As of May 24th, UK travelers will NOT need to present a negative Covid-19 test certificate (PCR test), as long as they have been in the UK in the last 14 days.

Travellers who have visited other countries during this period may still be required to provide a negative PCR test upon arrival in Spain.

It will be mandatory for all UK travelers, including children of all ages, entering Spain to fill out this Health Control Form which can be found here.

Travelers must be aware that as a consequence of Brexit, British citizens will still need a visa for purposes other than tourism such as carrying out professional activities. Information for foreigners who are planning their visit to Spain, including all entry requirements can be found on the Spanish Government website here.
